Lawful Engagement And Development Society (LEADS)

is a nonprofit organization whose goal is to continuously nurture the next generation for leadership.

Our goal is to build and equip tomorrow's leaders in all domains of society,

in order to deliberately provide a secure and prosperous future for our nation.

We want to achieve this by helping them discover their true purpose and relevance in the context of being responsible citizens of our country who have been gifted uniquely to play a role in the nation.

We want to encourage them to pursue their purpose with all they have in them to the benefit of humanity and the nation.

We plan to achieve this nurturing, by providing them with an environment that affords teenagers and young adults opportunities to lead in the service of community within a structured setting where they are uniquely positioned to serve the diverse communities across our nation.

Our goal is to give LEADS members the opportunity to serve real communities in a deliberate way across the nation in order to give them with firsthand experience in leadership through service as we train and nurture them to be the future leaders of our nation.

Nigeria is projected to become the 3rd most populated nation on earth in the next three decades.

The Need for Action

The lowest estimates have that population at over 300 million out of which over 60% will be young people. A large percentage of these young people will be unemployed and dissatisfied with life. History has shown that more than 80% of wars in our century started in nations with very high youth population. We would need to positively engage millions to save ourselves.

Across the country today, there are several agitations that take various forms in different regions of the country. The underlying issue however for every one of these agitations is frustration from a lack of opportunities to make a decent living for people arising from inadequate infrastructure and resources to meet the needs of the people as a result of poor planning for the future.

The question here is what we will do with 300 million people in our limited geographical space?

There will be chaos unless we start preparing now. We have roughly 30 years to prevent this and make a great nation instead. It’s all a function of what we do now.

To save our people from doom, we will need to proactively engage these young people from an early age to deliberately shape the future. Some of them will be political leaders, entrepreneurs, civil servant, etc.

They each will fall into one category or the other in our society. We have to shape the way they see themselves and the country into which God in his wisdom has placed them.

If we can change the way they think and inspire them to put the nation first, then we stand a chance of creating a proactive leadership that will use the strength in our diversity, population and the resources God has given us to build a super nation that the world will respect.

This looks like a fantastic initiative. Do you take short-term volunteers, eg for 2-4 weeks?
If so, are you able to e-mail a timetabld yet?

      Hi

We apologize for the late reply. The comments were not visible on our comment page. We are only just seeing this. Our main program for 2017 will be the summer camping which will be for 10 weeks from July to September. It really depends on which area you want to volunteer. Thanks
